1. удалил драйвер STA в "Дополнительных драйвеах/ Additional drivers".
2. из менеджера пакетов Synaptic установил firmware-b43-installer.
3. в консоли: rfkill list. Если хотя бы один пункт стоит YES, то надо выполнить команду
rfkill unblock all
4. Перегрузить
